"Old Surgut" is a historical and ethnographic complex located in a picturesque spot in the central part of the city on the banks of the Sayma River. The site contains 14 wooden houses. All of them are reconstructions of old buildings that once stood in various parts of the city but were later assembled into a single architectural ensemble. The historical and cultural center "Old Surgut" provides a clear picture of the appearance Surgut had at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries. With a single ticket, visitors can see and learn about all the exhibitions and displays of the historical and cultural center: the House of the History of the Surgut Cossacks "Veleno gorod staviti...", the A.S. Znamensky School-Museum "The Way to Siberia", the House of the Indigenous Peoples of the North "Everyday Life and Traditions of the Ugric Peoples", the House of Journalists named after A.P. Zubarev "My Land", and the "Black Fox Museum".
