About exhibition

A journey through the museum halls will take visitors back to the past century. The exhibition includes items from the museum's main collection presenting the history of Osinniki's development. Documents and handwritten memoirs are on display, along with exhibits reflecting the everyday life and crafts of the indigenous peoples of southern Siberia. The exhibition vividly demonstrates how the Shor people lived and worked before the arrival of Russians. On view are a diorama of a military dugout, an earth-house with World War II-era trenches, and sets recreating a divisional headquarters, where one can see soldiers' utensils with a small cast-iron stove (burzhuyka), a radio set used by a signalman, and try to imagine the hardships endured by their grandfathers and great-grandfathers. Also presented to visitors are the "Miners' Household Room", the "Hall of Paleontology, Ethnography and Nature", and temporary exhibitions.
