About exhibition

The local history section of the Liski Historical and Local Lore Museum includes seven halls: 'Nature', 'Archaeology', 'Nobility and Merchants' Corner', 'From the Origins to the 20th Century', 'The 20th–21st Century', 'Information', and 'Workshop of Spiritual Devotion'. The 'Nature' hall tells of the natural beauty of the Liski land. The Divnogorye nature reserve, the region's flora and fauna, the Don River and its tributaries — all these gems are reflected in the exhibition. The 'Archaeology' hall presents archaeological antiquities: a single-log dugout canoe, the burial of a Sarmatian beauty, and finds from the site of the Titchikha settlement. The 'Nobility and Merchants' Corner' recounts the famous noble and merchant families of the Liski land. 'From the Origins to the 20th Century' describes traditional peasant crafts and customs, Orthodox traditions and holy relics. 'The 20th–21st Century' is a hall about recent historical events. The display cases in the 'Information' hall are full of interesting facts about remarkable people and historical events. The 'Workshop of Spiritual Devotion' tells about the ascetics of the Voronezh region.
