Exhibitions "Kostroma Protected" and "Nature of the Kostroma Region"

In the new building of the Nature Department of the Kostroma Museum-Reserve, the exhibitions "Kostroma Protected" and "Nature of the Kostroma Region" are on display. Visitors will find a new space equipped with modern facilities. The "Kostroma Protected" project combines two displays: "Along the Reserve Trails" and "Planet of Insects". The "Along the Reserve Trails" exhibition introduces ten specially protected natural areas of the Kostroma Region and their inhabitants. The exhibition is supplemented by multimedia materials. One of the walls is occupied by a huge screen — using motion-capture technology you can select any of the reserves and get information about it. The "Planet of Insects" exhibition is a new collection of insects from around the world, organized according to zoogeographic principles. The interactive section features a large projector where you can follow the process of a pupa turning into a butterfly. The "Nature of the Kostroma Region" exhibition presents the ancient inhabitants of the region and the diversity of contemporary flora and fauna of the Kostroma area; here you can observe the changing seasons and learn how to behave when encountering wild animals.
