Exhibition "Golden Treasury"
About exhibition
The exhibition presents unique archaeological objects discovered during excavations of ancient burials in the Northern Caspian region. The collection of archaeological items made of precious metals at the Astrakhan State Museum-Reserve "Gold of the Nomads" began to take shape in the second half of the 20th century. Of particular interest are the gold ornaments of a Sarmatian chieftain from the famous burial near the village of Kosika in the Enotaevsky district: a gold pectoral — a breast symbol of royal authority; gold belt buckles depicting a steppe long-eared hedgehog; phalerae; and a poruch (harness ornament). Important: Individual visits to the exhibition take place every hour according to the museum's opening hours. For exclusive exhibitions, priority is given to guided groups.
