Tatarstan has always been rich in talent. Many outstanding figures were born and worked in the fields of culture and the arts on this land, including Baki Idrisovich Urmanche – the founder of Tatar professional visual art. The museum exhibits not only the master's paintings. His creative legacy also includes sculptural portraits and illustrations for Tatar fairy tales. The exhibition displays the artist's personal belongings as well: the violin Urmanche played and a cane carved by the master’s own hand. The museum is housed in a two-story stone mansion with an attic — a 20th-century architectural monument with elements of Art Nouveau, where even walls that never saw Baki Urmanche have absorbed the spirit of his art.
