Exhibition 'Zimushka-Zima!'
About exhibition
The exhibition will open on the eve of the New Year. Mother Nature has bestowed a special delight — a snowy winter. The beauty of the sleeping earth, the stripped trees and the frosty white mantle has for centuries inspired poets, philosophers and artists to reflect on this peculiar, frozen, icy charm. The mysterious winter darkness, saturated with light, gives rise to countless contradictory images and associations. A symbol of purity, celebration and renewal, snow has invariably attracted artists both by its rich expressiveness and by the technical challenge of rendering it on canvas. Rare are the artists who have not devoted at least a few paintings to this theme. The exhibition will present works by young artists from the Chechen Republic: dozens of paintings capturing impressive winter landscapes — snow-covered houses, forests and mountains. Some works will convey the fairy-tale atmosphere of the approaching New Year.
