Medicine is rarely talked about. And although its contribution to human life is enormous, almost no one today remembers or can imagine what medicine was like just 100 years ago. The exhibition will help trace how, over the entire history of Novonikolayevsk–Novosibirsk, the answers to the same urgent questions changed: What to do if you need medical help? Who will provide it and how? What awaits a patient during treatment? After all, at different times the answers to these questions differed radically. At the exhibition you will be able to learn: how is the medicine of the past perceived today? what makes it unusual? what challenges have repeatedly tested the city's medical services? what medical instruments and devices looked like? who used them and why? and you will learn the most vivid features in the portraits of two legendary Novosibirsk doctors. The exhibition features a hand-operated pedal drill manufactured by the well-known British firm 'Ash & Sons' from the late 19th century, as well as a reconstruction of an American drill from the 1890s, a dentist's chair, a set for bougienage that belonged to Dr. V. M. Mysh, a doctor's bag and other items related to medicine and medical practice.
