The Zavodoukovsk Local History Museum invites you to visit the exhibition of paintings by Stanislav Sergeyevich Popovich. The artist's biography is full of dramatic events, beginning in infancy. His paintings are devoted to the Zavodoukovsk land that became his home: its beautiful nature, the streets and back alleys of the town, and, of course, its people. He was masterful in the technique of broad brushstrokes. He painted equally well in both oil and gouache. He mainly worked from life, in the alla prima technique, when a painting is completed in a single session. He himself loved this land and its history very much. He valued and respected those who preserve that history. It is no coincidence that he was a regular visitor to the museum and a generous donor. Many of his works are owned by fellow townspeople; he donated some of them to the museum free of charge. One of the paintings is signed with the artist's prophetic words: 'Years will pass, and there will be a new museum, and this will be the memory of how the museum began.'
