The exhibition includes examples of various schools and movements of Western European painting. Dutch painting of the 17th century is represented by a work by the distinctive Flemish artist David Teniers the Younger, as well as by paintings by unknown artists. The painting 'Scene in a Seaport' by the Frenchman Adrien Manglard is attributed to 17th-century Western European painting — it is the only work by Manglard in Russia. On display are carved oak panels made in Germany (presumably from a cassone chest), richly decorated with carving, inlay, and painting. Two half-cabinets executed in the Boulle style date from the 19th century. A special section of the exhibition features fascinating examples of bladed weapons and firearms from the 18th–19th centuries. The exhibition also presents figurines, vases, jugs, sauceboats, and tea sets of various shapes and colors produced at the Meissen, Sèvres, and Berlin manufactories.
