Exhibition 'Foreign Art from the Late 17th to the Early 20th Century'
About exhibition
The exhibition features the finest examples from the collection of the National Gallery of the Komi Republic. The painting section includes works by artists from Italy, the Netherlands, Flanders, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, and the United States. The collection is notable for including works by artists whose pieces are extremely rare or entirely absent in other museums. Sculpture in the section is represented by a few individual pieces. Particularly notable for their high level of craftsmanship are a bronze replica of Giambologna's original 'Samson Striking the Philistines with the Jawbone of an Ass' and the bronze composition 'The Muses' by the French sculptor Mathurin Moreau (second half of the 19th century).
