Exhibition "Marina Bessonova's Choice"
About exhibition
The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts presents an exhibition dedicated to the memory of Marina Alexandrovna Bessonova — a legendary art historian, curator of 19th–20th-century French painting and the initiator of the creation at the A. S. Pushkin Museum of the "Objects and Installations" fund, which includes works of experimental art. She was not only a talented researcher but also a person whose passion for art inspired many. Her scholarly interests covered a wide range — from classical European art to contemporary artistic trends. The exhibition will provide insight into different, sometimes unexpected, components of the museum's collection through the prism of the curator's biography. The project will be presented in Hall 25 and in the permanent exhibition of the Gallery of Art of Europe and America of the 19th–20th centuries. Curators — Elena Zinicheva, Head of the Visual Information Department of the A. S. Pushkin Museum; Alexandra Danilova, Head of the Museum's New Western Art Department; Ekaterina Yefimova, curator of the museum's "Objects and Installations" fund.
