Exhibition 'The Kalevala Universe'

Through the prism of artists' perceptions from different generations, and in the full variety of genres and styles, the exhibition will lead the viewer through a universe called 'Kalevala'. In the new exposition visitors will experience an immersive journey along a path into the rune-singing forest to the sounds of the kantele, an immersion in the theme of the world's birth and an introduction to its heroes; the unusual installation 'The Pike' will reveal the secrets of folk life, share a brewing recipe and allow visitors to breathe in the aromas of the Kalevala, while the waters of the Tuonela River will carry guests beyond the familiar world! And, of course, the Kalevala is unthinkable without the mill Sampo! The exhibition presents over one hundred items from the museum's Kalevala collection: Tamara Yufa's unique female images, narrative works by Boris Akbulatov, watercolors by Georgy Stronk and Osmo Borodkin, linocuts by Myud Mechev, painterly canvases by Nikolai Bryukhanov and Vitaly Dobrynin, and etchings by Yuri Lyukshin.
