Exhibition "Time of the Firsts"

The exhibition features numerous models of space equipment, photographs, documents and printed publications that tell the story of Klin residents whose lives are connected with space exploration. A large section is devoted to the activities of the first "space" minister, S. A. Afanasyev. Of particular interest are items belonging to pilot‑cosmonaut Yu. P. Artyukhin that were in low Earth orbit during his flight aboard Soyuz‑14, the altitude‑compensating and anti‑G suits of test pilot N. I. Stogov, as well as samples of cosmonaut food. The complex is complemented by the interior and household items of a Soviet apartment from the 1950s–60s and 1970s–80s, which illustrate people’s lives at the time when space was being explored.
