Exhibition "Forward to Victory!"
About exhibition
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory over the Nazi invaders, the Ryazan Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve opens an exhibition dedicated to these momentous events. The exhibition features authentic items: weapons, pieces of uniform, personal belongings and awards of Ryazan heroes, and trophies of the defeated enemy from the museum's collections. The display includes numerous photographic documents taken during the war by Ryazan photojournalists Nikolai Bogdanov, Nikolai Gavrilov, Yuri Korolkov and Mikhail Savin, as well as posters by Ryazan artist Alexander Syrov. Together with a group of local painters, Alexander Syrov created series of posters and caricatures denouncing the villainy of the German army and underscoring the just cause of the Soviet people. Also on display is the symbolic work by the well-known Ryazan sculptor Antonina Usachenko titled Mourning Woman of Pskov. All these items are symbols of courage, selflessness and the enormous contribution of every Ryazan resident to the common Victory.
