The exhibition highlights the activities of the Volga Military Flotilla during the defense of Stalingrad. It was from Ulyanovsk that the flotilla's headquarters directed the delivery of weapons to the combat zone and the defense of the city from the Volga. The behind-the-lines history of Ulyanovsk and the city's contribution of labor valor to the defense of Stalingrad are presented through exhibits, photographic documents and textual materials. The exhibition project was supported by the Russian Military-Historical Society. Partners included the State Historical and Memorial Museum-Reserve "Battle of Stalingrad", the Saratov Regional Museum of Local Lore, and the River Fleet Museum of the Volga State University of Water Transport.
