About exhibition

Refurbished in the year of the 80th anniversary of Victory, the museum space will become a center for patriotic education for the region's younger generation. Modern multimedia equipment and elements of augmented reality (AR), acquired in 2024 thanks to the support of the governor and the Government of the Ulyanovsk Region and the national 'Culture' project, contribute to a new perception of the exhibition. The conceptual focus of the re-exhibition is the theme of memory. The 'Immortal Regiment' is represented by portraits of 570 Ulyanovsk residents who fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. For the first time the exhibition will present the battle banner of the 344th Roslavl Red Banner Division, formed in 1941 on the territory of Baryshsky and Kuzovatovsky districts of Kuybyshev (from 1943 – Ulyanovsk) Region. A particular attraction for visitors will be the theatrical guided tour 'Faces of a Home Front City', based on wartime letters and memoirs.
