G. I. Shelekhov lived in Irkutsk for 23 years (1773–1795), engaging in active commercial and public life together with his wife Natalia Alekseevna while raising 10 children. The Shelekhov household was visited by notable merchants and guests of Irkutsk, as well as travelers and researchers. The exhibition is based on letters of the Shelekhov family from Russian archives, copies of which are kept in the collections of the G. I. Shelekhov Museum. On display are engravings, lithographs, household items, clothing, footwear, tableware, children’s toys, women’s jewelry, and decorative and applied art objects that were common in the merchant milieu, including in Irkutsk.
