Exhibition "In the Beginning There Was Tea... The History of Tea and the Tea Tradition"
About exhibition
The exhibition "In the Beginning There Was Tea... The History of Tea and the Tea Tradition" was created in accordance with a Decree of the President of the Russian Federation on the support of traditional Russian spiritual and moral values. It is dedicated to Russia's tea culture — a symbol of hospitality, family comfort and moral unity. The exhibition features samovars, porcelain from the M. S. Kuznetsov factory, Soviet "Chaika" porcelain, as well as items from museum and private collections — spoons, glass-holders (podstakanniki), sugar bowls, candy wrappers, and porcelain from England and Germany. The exhibition is housed in the Bogarsukov brothers' mansion and includes products of the First Tea Cooperative (Matsesta tea), as well as interactive materials on the history of tea in Russia. The project is aimed at the spiritual and moral development of visitors and contributes to the preservation and strengthening of traditional Russian culture.
