Exhibition 'Grand Duke Mikhail Alexandrovich: The Perm Period'
About exhibition
Perm is part of the nationwide 'Imperial Route'; for many years it has hosted historical lectures and memorial events. The city is actively working to develop museum and service infrastructure that would allow tourists and visitors to comprehensively learn about the history of the region's relations with the Romanov family. The choice of location for the exhibition is not accidental — the building of the former hotel 'Royal Rooms', where the grand duke spent the last several weeks of his life, is a landmark for the city. The creation of this project is the first step towards converting it into a museum and establishing a permanent exhibition dedicated to Grand Duke Mikhail Alexandrovich as part of the activities of the cultural and educational center 'The Romanovs and the Perm Region'. For the first time visitors will be able to enter the building's memorial space — Karetny Proezd — view a large number of unique documents and photographs, see footage from unique archival film recordings featuring Mikhail Alexandrovich, view a reconstructed example of military uniform from his service in the Caucasian Native Division, examine 3D models of the insignia of charitable societies of which he was a trustee, and listen to audio recordings of memories from participants and eyewitnesses of the events.
