About exhibition
At the Demidov Historical and Local Lore Museum there is an exhibition introducing visitors to the works of V. V. Romanenkov, published at various times: 'Three Bulya', 'Uncle Months and I', 'One Hundred Riddles for Kids', 'Leafing Through the Folk Calendar', 'The Porechye Region: Pearls of Nature', collections of poems, etc. Exhibited are photographs from the personal archive, carefully preserved and donated by the poet himself, photocopies of a number of newspaper publications about V. V. Romanenkov's poetry, and commemorative editions of a kind: 'Smolensk Lyre', 'Annual Rings', 'We Are 80' — which present the work of the Demidov poet. Interest in the exhibition among adult and young museum visitors has not waned to this day. Poetry lovers have long been familiar with the name of the poet, a member of the Union of Writers of Russia, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Vasily Vasilievich Romanenkov. V. V. Romanenkov trained as a teacher, lived and worked for a long time as a schoolteacher, then in the district press, and as director of the Teachers' House.
