Exhibition "On the Home Front and at the Front"
About exhibition
The exhibition introduces the history of Anzhero-Sudzhensk during the Great Patriotic War (World War II). The core of the exhibition consists of commemorative items and documents of war participants and home-front workers from the museum's collections — photographs, military and labor awards, and personal belongings that tell the stories of Anzhero-Sudzhensk residents on the home front and at the front. Among the exhibits are soldiers' mess kits and spoons, frontline letters from 1941–1945, war trophies brought back by veterans who returned with the Victory, surgical instruments used in evacuation hospitals located in the city, miners' equipment from the 1940s, and mortar shell casings manufactured at the Anzhero-Sudzhensk Machine-Building Plant. The exhibits on display preserve the memory of the war's heroes for future generations and help commemorate the history of the people who gave their descendants a peaceful sky overhead.
