The exhibition is the final stage of the grant project 'Chitinsky ostro', carried out by the military-historical reenactment club 'Transbaikal Front' with the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation. The exhibition presents a unique collection of precise replicas of the weapons, clothing and equipment of 17th-century Cossacks, without which travel through unfamiliar and dangerous lands would have been impossible. Visitors will see everyday objects recreated on the basis of archaeological and historical data, and authentic exhibits from the period of Transbaikalia's exploration from the collection of the Transbaikal Regional Museum of Local Lore. The exhibition is a living account of those who went 'toward the sun': Cossacks, fur trappers and pioneers whose efforts brought Transbaikalia into the Russian state.
