Exhibition at the "Literary Life of the Urals in the 20th Century" Museum
About exhibition
The museum building is a rare example of wooden Modern style (Art Nouveau) from the early 20th century (architect – I. Yankovsky, 1910–1912). The permanent exhibition displays artifacts and books by Ural writers and poets, as well as by popular authors associated with the Urals. The museum houses the original first edition of P. Bazhov's "The Malachite Casket" (1939), as well as the writer's personal briefcase. Film fans can watch the first full-length feature film "Silva" (director – A. Ivanovsky), shot at the Sverdlovsk Film Studio in 1944. In the museum halls you can also find N. Nikonov's personal accordion and part of his collection of butterflies and seashells. In the writers' laboratory — typewriters of Ural authors and S. Drugal's personal laptop. B. Ryzhy's library — a collection of poetry volumes and studies about the life and work of the brilliant poet — can be picked up and read.
