Exhibition "In the Unity of Cultures — The Strength of the People"
About exhibition
The exposition includes works of contemporary fine, decorative-applied arts and folk crafts created by Crimean masters who are members of the Association for the Development of Creativity of the Peoples of Crimea. The exhibition features elegant ceramics of various forms created by ceramic artists Alexander Shekhanin, Eldar Gusenov and Edem Ganiev; felt items with traditional ornaments by craftswomen Niyara Memetova and Venera Bekirova; delicate embroidery decorating clothing and interior items by talented embroiderers Alime Gusenova and Zora Ziyadinova; dolls in national costume by master Natalia Ilyina; and works of artistic casting and chasing by Eldar Islamov and Izzet Sattarov. Of special note are the refined jewelry pieces — earrings, bracelets, belts and pendants — made by the renowned jeweler and full cavalier of the Fabergé orders, Mehti Islamov, in the traditional technique of Crimean filigree. Original creations by Natalia Frishman, mosaic panels by Olga Kashtanova, cotton-padded sculptural compositions by Eteri Khutsishvili, and items produced using the galvanoplasty technique by Dmitry Romashevsky offer a chance to touch the living history of Crimea, where past traditions are organically woven into contemporary life. A separate section of the exhibition presents Crimean landscapes by Yalta-based artist Natalia Goncharova and ceramics by Mark and Maria Karpinsky.
