Exhibition "Demyanovo Estate (entrance via the wing)"
About exhibition
A building from the 1930s on the grounds of the P. I. Tchaikovsky Museum-Reserve. Inside there is an exhibition dedicated to the composer's pupil and friend, S. I. Taneyev, as well as an exhibition devoted to the old Demyanovo estate in the vicinity of the town of Klin. After the death of pianist and composer S. I. Taneyev, the founder of the P. I. Tchaikovsky House-Museum, M. I. Tchaikovsky, removed furniture, some household items and personal belongings of S. I. Taneyev from the Moscow house on Maly Vlasevsky Lane to Klin. The Museum's collections were thus supplemented with items belonging to S. I. Taneyev. The Demyanovo estate on the bank of the Sestra River in the town of Klin was founded in the 18th century. Its last owner was Taneyev's elder brother, Vladimir Ivanovich — a lawyer, philosopher and public figure, who lived here with his family from 1885. The exhibition displays V. I. Taneyev's work desk, a small writing desk, a model of the Demyanovo estate and some everyday household items.
