Exhibition "The Unique Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Karachay-Cherkessia"
About exhibition
The exhibition, timed to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, presents ethnographic material from the museum-reserve's collections. It tells the story of the culture of the Circassians, Abazins, Karachays, Nogais, and Cossacks. Among the exhibits are men's and women's ornaments from the 19th to the early 20th centuries, household utensils made of wood and metal, textile items such as scarves, jewelry — breast ornaments and belts of the 19th–20th centuries, jugs and other items. Also shown is part of a collection of clay objects and pre-revolutionary photographs, including works by the 19th-century photographer D. I. Ermakov.
