The N.G. Poletayev Historical and Local Lore Museum is the largest institution in the Tuapse district, showcasing the history and attractions of the city of Tuapse. Among the museum's exhibits are ancient tools, cold and firearms, original photographs and wartime documents, jewelry, folk arts and crafts products, national costumes, household items and much more. Visitors can learn about the fauna of the Tuapse district, archaeological monuments and finds, discover the history of the founding and development of Tuapse, and see unique objects of the spiritual and material culture of the peoples of the Tuapse district. In 2024, as part of the National Project “Culture”, the museum opened a renovated archaeology hall. The exhibition space allows visitors to immerse themselves in the era of the Ancient World and learn about life in the Tuapse area during the Middle Ages and the Early Modern period.
