Exhibition 'Three Centuries of Perm's History'
About exhibition
How did it happen that Perm turned out to be the only city in the world whose name is written into the geological record of the Earth? And which visiting foreign scientist should be thanked for that? Why did the prominent writer Pavel Melnikov-Pechersky believe that "Perm is built more correctly than New York"? And how did it happen that the city was deprived of its historical name for as many as 17 years? In honor of which major Soviet statesman was it called during that time, and when did it regain its former name, which had been established under Catherine the Great? The entire history of Perm's development — its difficult stages and achievements from the early 18th century to the present day — is presented at the exhibition using modern technologies.
