One of the museum's key exhibitions is dedicated to the Taymyr Peninsula, its remarkable nature, the history of its exploration, its distinctive culture and the development of the traditional way of life of its indigenous inhabitants. The hall presents collections from the museum's holdings: zoological – dioramas depicting natural compositions of Arctic flora and fauna; archaeological – excavation finds illustrating the lifestyle of the peninsula's ancient inhabitants; paleontological – fossils and bone remains of marine organisms and mammals, some up to 523 million years old; ethnographic – a collection of the material culture of Taymyr's indigenous peoples. Visitors will discover the mysterious world of Taymyr – a territory where you can see Russia's highest waterfall at the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Putorana Plateau, animals found nowhere else in the world, learn about brave pioneers and explorers, the traditions of the small-numbered indigenous peoples of the Far North, meet a shaman and admire the beauty of the northern lights over the Arctic deserts.
