Tarusa is rightfully called the Russian Barbizon, "a pearl of culture", the City of the Golden Rose. The exhibition presents painters, writers and musicians associated with Tarusa who made it famous; it offers a retrospective of names and fates: the Tsvetaev family, the Vulf family, K. G. Paustovsky, I. M. Kasatkin, N. V. Bogdanov, S. Z. Fedorchenko, N. A. Zabolotsky, K. D. Balmont, Y. K. Baltrushaitis, A. N. Tolstoy, A. K. Vinogradov, N. P. Krymov, B. A. Pilnyak, A. S. Novikov-Priboy, V. E. Borisov-Musatov, V. A. Vatagin, S. T. Richter, B. A. Akhmadulina, B. Sh. Okudzhava and others. Rare photographs, documents and memorial items are on display.
