The Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography is housed in a unique historic building. This is the very mansion about which many legends circulate, especially those about its owner, Elena Alexandrovna Ponosova-Mollo. It is impossible to take in the full beauty of this house at first glance. The first thing that catches the eye is the projecting porch in the form of a portico with square columns and a triangular pediment. The building's facade, adorned with rustication, elaborate cornices, stucco decorations and window surrounds, is particularly striking. These refinements made the house a gem of Ufa. Few people know that the creator of the famous Darth Vader costume from the Star Wars saga was John Mollo, the grandson of the mansion's former owner, E. A. Ponosova-Mollo. This mansion was fortunate to fall into the hands of scholars and has almost completely preserved its original appearance.
