Exhibition "Fates Carved in Stone"
About exhibition
The exhibition is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It is a multilayered artistic and historical study of one of the most tragic and significant chapters of the country’s history. The display occupies several interconnected halls, each devoted to a separate stage of the story: the pre-war period; military operations and front-line life; the home front; the concluding section is dedicated to the Victory. The exhibition brings together fine art, sculpture, archival materials and multimedia technologies. It features works created both by direct participants in the fighting (F. A. Yakupov, V. I. Kudelkin, L. A. Fattakhov, etc.) and by postwar artists (I. V. Rafikov, M. Kh. Khaertdinov, A. N. Mazitov, etc.) who sought to convey the full drama of the events. Exhibits were also provided by enterprises such as the Kazan Gunpowder Plant and the Kazan Aircraft Plant named after S. P. Gorbunov.
