The exhibition presents the glorious labor history of Volgodonsk: the construction of the navigable canal and the Tsimlyansk hydroelectric complex, the chemical plant, the erection of the giant of nuclear machine-building — the Atommash plant — and the nuclear power station. The exhibition introduces outstanding people who wrote bright pages in Volgodonsk's biography: renowned builders, city leaders, and figures of culture and sport who received high national recognition. Visitors will see the city as it once was: as envisioned by architect Yu. Federyakin, as built by G. Fomenko and E. Kolabekova, and as adorned by sculptors V. Polyakov and E. Derdiyashchenko. The exhibition features original documents, photographs, and personal belongings of Volgodonsk’s builders and residents. A unique selection of objects showcases the professional equipment of the first builders, models of nuclear equipment, and well-known monuments of Volgodonsk.
