The new exhibition is located in the Museum of the History of Faith — one of the branches of the Cherdyn Museum. The exhibition tells the story of the Monastery of St. John the Theologian — the first in the Urals. An important part of it is the monastery's revival at the beginning of the 20th century as a women's monastery through the efforts of Abbess Rufina. And, of course, it addresses the hardships faced by the country, Cherdyn and the monastery at that time: World War I, the Revolution, and the Civil War. How did the town and its people live? Why did residents emigrate, and how did the women's monastery emigrate? Visitors will be able to see two icons from the Monastery of St. John the Theologian. One of them is the icon of St. Catherine; its riza (metal cover) was embroidered with beads by Anfiya Danilovna Alina, the wife of a well-known Cherdyn merchant.
