Exhibition "Stylish Tomsk. Antique Furniture in the Museum Collection"
About exhibition
The museum's furniture collection numbers about 350 items. These include expensive merchant furniture suites from the late 19th to the early 20th centuries made in the Rococo, Empire, Baroque and Art Nouveau styles, as well as peasant household items acquired by the museum through expeditionary collections. A significant part of the collection consists of furniture that belonged to the family of Tomsk gold-mining industrialist Ivan Dmitrievich Astashev, in whose estate the museum has been located since 1920. Of particular interest are a set of Chinese furniture from the turn of the 19th–20th centuries and a French suite from the late 18th century.
