Visitors to the exhibition will immerse themselves in the history of the ancient town, learn about archaeological finds and birch-bark documents of the 12th–14th centuries, and see fragments of 15th–17th-century frescoes preserved on the walls of the ancient Spaso-Preobrazhensky (Transfiguration) Cathedral. Guests will stroll through the museum's displays, which include fragments of tsrens (iron pans used in salt boiling) and a wooden pipeline that carried brine to the saltworks. Via a 17th-century intra-mural staircase visitors can climb to the bell tower's viewing platform, which offers views over the surroundings of the former Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery.
