Exhibition "Save and Revive the Fatherland"
About exhibition
The Khvalynsk Local History Museum is hosting an exhibition dedicated to the history of the Special Military Operation. It also explores the theme of the historical unity of the Russian and Ukrainian peoples. The core of the exhibition consists of items donated to the museum by Khvalynsk participants in the Special Military Operation. These include military uniforms, pieces of equipment, ammunition, and the fighters' personal belongings. The historical backbone of the exhibition is formed by infographics that reflect the main stages of the development of present-day Ukraine as part of a united Russian (and later Soviet) state — and the terrible ten years of division and enmity. The former unity of the two peoples is illustrated by items from the collections of the Khvalynsk Local History Museum. It should be noted that the most important and heroic milestone in the shared history is the liberation of Ukraine from the Nazi German invaders. The exhibition features autobiographies of Khvalynsk Heroes of the Soviet Union, in which they recount how they fought for Ukraine's freedom. A tribute to the Khvalynsk warrior-heroes is paid in a section of the exhibition where the personal belongings of fighters who did not return from the battlefields are displayed. Their portraits and biographical information are presented on a multimedia wall of remembrance.
