"Neighbors of the Planet" is a unique exhibition space that brings together displays devoted to the animal and plant world: "Pathfinder Trails", the "I. M. Rubinsky Collection" and "Insect Planet". The "Pathfinder Trails" exhibit introduces visitors to ten specially protected natural areas of the Kostroma Region and the region's only state nature reserve, the Kologrivsky Forest. Also presented here is the pride of the Museum of Nature — the personal insect collection assembled by Ivan Rubinsky at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. In the "Insect Planet" hall there is a unique assemblage organized according to zoogeographical principles, featuring some of the most beautiful and spectacular butterflies and the largest beetles from around the world.
