About exhibition

Most of the artifacts are being shown for the first time, revealing the genuine treasures of the Stavropol region and its ancient and medieval history and culture. Visitors will see knives and daggers, swords and sabers, covered in brown rust and conserved by skilled restorers. The blades of some have become permanently fused with their precious scabbards. Nearby are fragments of medieval Golden Horde textiles, a set of objects from the burial of a wealthy merchant, cold weapons with scabbards decorated with "divine metal", and heavy precious ornaments that belonged to an Asian beauty — a fashionista, priestess, and warrior — miraculously preserved in one of the subsidiary burials beneath a Sarmatian-era barrow.
