Exhibition "Soyot Complex"
About exhibition
Ancestors of the Soyots were Turkic-speaking tribes; related peoples include the Tuvans-Todzhins, Tsaatan, and Tofalars. Since ancient times the Soyots have practiced animal husbandry and hunting, migrating with reindeer, yaks, and horses across various zones of mountainous terrain. The Soyot Complex was organized with the assistance of residents of the Okinsky District and rural museums that provided exhibits. The exhibition includes cone-shaped dwellings (ursa) covered with larch bark and animal skins, utility shelters, ritual structures, as well as individual household items. Work on creating the Soyot Complex exhibition is ongoing.
