"Dreams of Siberia" is the first project in Russia to combine history, archaeology, contemporary art and advanced exhibition technologies. The exhibition places emphasis on the culture and art of the ancient peoples of the forest and forest-steppe zones — from the Cis-Urals to Western Siberia. Around 100 exhibits will be presented — archaeological artifacts from federal and regional museums, the majority of which have never before left museum collections. These include cult images and ritual weapons, ancient masks and full-size replicas of millennia-old stelae. In dialogue with the past, contemporary art also appears in the exhibition, represented by iconic works by the world-renowned Siberian sculptor Dashi Namdakov, who draws on the culture of the indigenous peoples of Siberia in his work.
