Exhibition "Meanings and Crafts"

About exhibition

The exhibition features works created by folk artisans. This gives visitors the opportunity to become acquainted with very rare and unusual items. For example, the Veliky Ustyug Cultural and Leisure Center is presenting openwork Shemogod birchbark carving; Tula artist Olga Andreeva — traditional city toys; and Ossetian master Azamat Ktsoev — original chased metalwork (repoussé) characterized by heroism and monumentality. A total of 530 items will be exhibited. Special attention in the display is drawn to leather items and embroidery by Tatar artisans. Leather mosaic, or patterned leather, is a unique form of art of the Tatar people, with no analogues in the applied arts of other Turkic peoples. Contact phone: +7 (843) 590-00-50.
