Exhibition "NKVD Investigation Prison"
About exhibition
A new permanent exhibition is located in the museum's memorial zone, where nine former prison cells have been recreated. One of them is preserved as a museum exhibit in its original form; the others contain thematic modules dedicated to the history of mass repressions in the USSR. The exhibition uses modern museum presentation tools: projection systems, audio guides and interactive exhibits. The authors pay particular attention to the legacy of the repressions on the territory of present-day Tomsk Oblast (the Chainskoye Uprising, the Nazinskaya and Belostok tragedies, Kolpashevsky Yar, etc.). Among the exhibits are copies and original documents from investigation files, photo albums, embroideries, paintings, drawings, playing cards, and handicrafts made of wood and stone, produced in camps and in exile.
