Exhibition 'Glory to Platov, the Hero!'

Visitors will become acquainted with a substantial numismatic collection, documents from the 18th to the early 19th century, printed books, examples of antique weaponry, fragments of order sets, and open letters reflecting both the military exploits and the administrative activities of the ataman. A significant component comprises engravings from the series 'Collection of twelve engraved pictures representing the account of the most memorable victories won over the enemy in 1812,' executed by I. Beggrov and S. Fedorov 'under the supervision' of S. Kardelli after drawings by D. Scotty, as well as early 19th-century English satirical etchings depicting the Don hero and his opponent — Napoleon.
