About exhibition

An annual project organized by the Sculpture Department of the Russian Academy of Arts (RAA), it introduces visitors to the work of Russia's leading masters who today define the high standard of contemporary sculptural art worldwide. The exhibition displays easel sculptures created by academicians and corresponding members of the RAA. These works reveal the main directions in the development of contemporary sculpture, features of form-making and compositional construction, and demonstrate the variety of figurative and stylistic solutions in easel sculpture. The artists are not limited by genre: at the exhibition easel sculptures in the round stand alongside reliefs and spatial objects. The range of materials is astonishing and varied: bronze and marble, wood and stone, metal, composites and other innovative materials. More details on the RAA website.
