Exhibition "The Archaeological School of the Simbirsk (Ulyanovsk) Region"
About exhibition
The exhibition project presents the activities of the children's association "Young Archaeologist" at Inza Secondary School No. 1, as well as the work of Ulyanovsk educator-archaeologists in creating archaeology schools for children in the Simbirsk–Ulyanovsk area from the late 19th century to the present. The display features about 50 items from the collections of the Rodina V. I. Lenin Museum-Reserve, Inza Secondary School No. 1, and the Center for Archaeological Research "Simbirskaya Starina": Paleolithic artifacts (the "Podgorny" flint-knapping workshop, the Mesolithic site of Pazukhino, the Bolshoe Shuvatovo archaeological complex) that entered the museum-reserve collection thanks to the efforts of young archaeologists, photographs from archaeological excavations, and students' scientific publications. Visitors can explore three exhibition sections: "Simbirsk–Ulyanovsk historian-teachers on archaeology for children", "Archaeological discoveries and finds by schoolchildren", and the children's association "Young Archaeologist" of Inza Secondary School No. 1.
