Exhibition 'The Heart of the Siberian Rear: Tomsk in the War Years'
About exhibition
The exhibition is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The display tells of Tomsk's role as a support base for the front. Visitors will see personal stories of people who contributed to the Victory, as well as objects reflecting everyday life during wartime. Among the exhibits are a portrait of Maria Oktyabrskaya and the telogreika (quilted jacket) of Red Army soldier Ivan Tkachenko. The exhibition also presents the difficult subject of the genocide of the Soviet people. In one of the halls the atmosphere of an evacuation hospital will be recreated: medical beds, special cabinets, a medical instrument kit, etc.
