Ivan Kuzmich Makarov — the son of a serf artist, a brilliant Russian portraitist, the creator of pictorial Pushkiniana (works devoted to Pushkin), a master who captured an entire era in faces. The artist was awarded the title of Academician "for his art and knowledge in painted portraiture", worked on commissions for the imperial family, and painted icons on private commission. Success accompanied the painter throughout his long creative life. I. K. Makarov's most famous works are portraits of members of A. S. Pushkin's family. The exhibition presents reproductions of his works — portraits of the wife ("Portrait of Natalya Nikolaevna Pushkina-Lanskaya, née Goncharova", 1849), the daughters Natalya ("Portrait of Natalya Alexandrovna Pushkina", 1849) and Maria ("Portrait of Maria Alexandrovna Gartung", 1860). The exhibition is timed to the Year of the Family and the 225th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin.
