Exhibition "Masterpieces of Russian Art from the 11th to the Early 20th Century"
About exhibition
In the historic building that housed the collection of the Gallery's founder Pavel Mikhailovich Tretyakov (from 1856), you can see the museum's permanent exhibition of more than 1,300 works of Russian art from the 11th to the early 20th century — from pre‑Mongol icons and mosaics to landscape, portrait, and historical painting, including world‑renowned masterpieces such as Andrei Rublev's "Trinity" and Alexander Ivanov's "The Appearance of Christ to the People." The work of great artists is presented in a multifaceted way — Vasily Ivanovich Surikov, Vasily Vasilievich Vereshchagin, Ilya Yefimovich Repin, Valentin Alexandrovich Serov, and others.
